چکیده

Polarimetric SAR interferometry (Pol-InSAR) is a radar remote sensing technique that is sensitive to the vertical distribution of scattering processes in volumes. The Random Volume over Ground (RVoG) model is a powerful tool used to invert forest height from PolInSAR data. But Pol-InSAR inversion performance depends critically on uncompensated decorrelation contributions (i.e. temporal decorrelation in repeat pass system) and the height sensitivity of the effective baseline, represented by the vertical wavenumber Z  . To overcome these constraints a multibaseline PolInSAR inversion approach could be an effective solution. In this paper, different approaches for combining multibaseline Pol-InSAR inversion results are proposed and discussed. Multibaseline Pol-InSAR data acquired by DLR’s E-SAR system over the Traunstein forest during the TempoSAR 2008 campaign are used.

Multi-baseline Pol-InSAR Forest Height Estimation in the pres- ence of temporal decorrleation

Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Interferometry (Pol-InSAR) is a radar remote sensing technique, based on the coherent combination of radar polarimetry (Pol-SAR) and SAR interferometry (InSAR) which is substantially more sensitive to structural parameters of forest volume scatterers (e.g. forest) than conventional interferometry or polarimetry alone. However, temporal decorrelation i...

Radiometric Issues in Adaptive Polarimetric Sar Tomography

Multibaseline (MB) SAR tomography (Tomo-SAR) is an advanced mode of SAR interferometry, allowing full 3D imaging of volumetric and layover scatterers along the azimuth, range and height dimensions. Recently, this technique has also been extended in a polarimetric sense (PolTomo-SAR), exploiting MB SAR data acquired with different polarization channels. In this way, the joint estimation is possi...

Research on Inversion Models for Forest Height Estimation Using Polarimetric Sar Interferometry

The forest height is an important forest resource information parameter and usually used in biomass estimation. Forest height extraction with PolInSAR is a hot research field of imaging SAR remote sensing. SAR interferometry is a well-established SAR technique to estimate the vertical location of the effective scattering center in each resolution cell through the phase difference in images acqu...

Three-stage inversion improvement for forest height estimation using dual-PolInSAR data

This paper addresses an algorithm for forest height estimation using single frequency single baseline dual polarization radar interferometry data. The proposed method is based on a physical two layer volume over ground model and is represented using polarimetric synthetic aperture radar interferometry (PolInSAR) technique. The presented algorithm provides the opportunity to take advantages of t...

Comparison of Methods to Derive Forest Height from Polarimetric Sar Interferometry

Six forest tree height inversion methods of polarimetric SAR interferometry were validated using repeat pass E-SAR datasets and the corresponding ground measured forest stand height. We show that SINC, three stage full model and three stage SINC inversions have good performance, and the SINC inversion with the first optimum coherence (OPT1) produces the best result among the eleven coherence ty...
